District Sales Manager

Reporting to: North America Sales Director

Location: Lowell, MA

Territory US East

Job Purpose:

The District Sales Manager will promote and develop business for MACOM products at Direct Accounts and manage associated sales channel performance for the responsible region. Understand all the markets and customer applications requiring MACOM Networking ICs, RF, Microwave and passive components. Executes the sales plan to ensure achievement of objectives for sales performance, customer and market penetration and growth in the defined territory. Grow MACOM’s presence in the territory through capture of new business and professional representation of our value proposition to customers.

Key duties and responsibilities:

Responsible for sales of the entire MACOM portfolio of products for the Networking, Telecom, Aerospace, Defense, Industrial, and Automotive markets in the US East Region defined as: NE, East Canada, mid-Atlantic, Southeast. The position will report directly to the North America Sales Director and will be responsible for the following:

Growing annual sales in the region.

Coordinate with other Sales Managers relative to major and strategic accounts to meet overall account and corporate objectives.

Sell directly in specific assigned accounts in the region. An AOP goal will be assigned to meet and exceed with specific accounts targeted. These accounts may be called on directly by the DSM or by the REP or DISTY.

Develop new markets and customers, also support product lines in new product definitions and technical requirements from customers to development of new products and technologies.

Managing the rep(s) in the assigned regions to grow MACOM sales at all accounts. The responsibilities include working closely with reps to assist, train, guide and hold them accountable towards achieving sales objectives.

Manage regional performance, assuring best cost-effective operations are achieved in line with AOP for assigned territory.

Publish and distribute customer contact and sales trip reports to management and product lines.

Update quarterly forecasts, develop, and maintain opportunities in SalesForce for assigned regions.

Conduct quarterly reviews with REPS and DISTY to ensure sales targets are met.

Support Sales operations as required on Channel strategies, contracts, annual pricing agreements and large opportunities and quote approvals.

DSM will be expected to safely travel in assigned territory as allowed by local government and customer requirements.

Qualifications and requirements:

Fluent in English

B.S. Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical discipline

5-10 years of technical Semiconductor, Optical, RF and Microwave component / systems selling experience.

Sales experience in territory assigned; ideally has existing relationships at key accounts, experience managing REPS and DISTYS.

Ability to work effectively and efficiently with diverse teams, customers, internal and external partners.

Be able to thrive and succeed in a fast-paced, high intensity environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities.

Possess the ability to communicate clearly, accurately, and directly, both verbally and in writing to a cross functional audience.

Be able to sell via phone, zoom meetings, and in person and close the opportunity and ask for the order.

Be able to work independently; be self- motivated; and to meet the high level of expectations of MACOM sales professional.
