Just Natural Organic Barley Pearled 500g

Organic Pearled Barley has had its tough outer husk removed, giving it a quicker cooking time and a pleasantly chewy texture that holds up well in soups, stews and risotto-style dishes. It's a traditional store-cupboard grain, valued for the way it thickens broths naturally as it cooks while adding a mild, nutty flavour. Simply simmer in stock or water until tender — no soaking required — and use it warm as a side, stirred through a hearty winter soup, or cooled into a grain salad with herbs and lemon. As a wheat alternative it does still contain gluten, so it isn't suitable for a gluten-free diet, but it is certified organic, vegan and free from added sugar. Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place, where it will keep well for many months.
